2023 Running to Honor 5K

Volunteer for the 2023 Running to Honor 5K

The Running To Honor 5K is a timed, family friendly run/walk on Saturday, July 29, 2023. The race will start at the Sheridan Pavilion located inside Heritage Park, 12111 Pardee Rd., Taylor, MI 48180. The start time of the 5K is 8:00 AM.

The proceeds from the race will benefit local Veterans organizations.
This position reports to Aaron Bartal and helps issue the bibs and t-shirts at packet pickup on Friday July 28th, 2023 at the Sheridan Pavilion in Heritage Park (12111 Pardee Rd, Taylor, MI). There could be times where you will be really busy and other times where you have nothing to do. Please be patient and bring something to occupy your time in the event it is slow.

This year instead of having five days of packet pick up we have reduced that down to having packet pick up the day before the race from 12 pm to 8 pm and on race day morning from 6 am to 8 am. I believe this is a better use of our available resources. The packet pick up now occurs exclusively at the Sheridan Pavilion in Heritage Park on Friday and Saturday. This helps reduce the complexity of the logistics involved in organizing an event like this.

This position reports to Aaron Bartal and helps keep positive control on the t-shirts at packet pickup on Saturday July 29th, 2023 at Heritage Park, 12111 Pardee Rd, Taylor, Michigan. Our t-shirts were so popular five years ago that there was an issue where over a dozen were stolen when our volunteers had their backs turned helping participants. As a result there was a need to have a dedicated volunteer watch the shirts and make sure no one other than a packet pick up volunteers are handing them out. The volunteer needs to be present from 6a-10a
